Bjarke Ingels Group Office Build-Out

UAG is proud to partner with one of the city’s fastest growing architecture firms as it expands its office. Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), the Copenhagen-based architecture firm, is moving its U.S. headquarters from lower Manhattan to Dumbo’s Tech Triangle at 45 Main Street.

With only 6 years in New York City, the firm is expanding from 22,000 square feet to 52,000 square feet. This comes after the firm’s tremendous success on the VIA 57 West project.

Beyond architecture, the firm also includes a think tank and specialist research group called BIG IDEAS and recently expanded to offer an in-house engineering department, according to Building Design & Construction.

UAG is providing construction management services for the new office fit-out. UAG Project Manager Johnny Mongelli is leading the operations and describes the design as light and open with clean lines. The overall aesthetic is accentuated by skylights, allowing the influx of natural lighting.

The space will include large open workstations, casual lounge areas, canteen and pantries and glass-enclosed meeting rooms. A built-in materials library is located adjacent to the workstations for easy reference. The fit-out will also feature an architectural model shop, photo studio and gallery.

“It’s an honor to be working BIG. The entire team is an amazing group of talented individuals and their professionalism is second to none,” said Johnny Mongelli.
