UAG is currently providing construction management services for 540 Broad Street, previously the New Jersey Bell Headquarters and now listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
The 436,000-square-foot tower will be repurposed to include commercial, retail and residential spaces. Sixteen of the building’s twenty floors will be converted from office space to 265 residential units. The design also incorporates amenity spaces for resident use, including a fitness center and bowling alley.
The art-deco style lobby, auditorium and corridors will be renovated with a new porte cochère to welcome residents. The existing sandstone and buff brick facade will be restored and will include the installation of energy efficient windows while maintaining its historic presence.
