POWERHOUSE ARTS
Powerhouse Arts is a 180,000-square-foot arts and cultural hub in Gowanus, Brooklyn, where UAG collaborated with non-profit partners Powerhouse Arts and Gemini Arts Initiative to lead preconstruction and construction services. The project includes the renovation of the historic Turbine Hall—also known as the Grand Hall—into a venue for public assembly and programming, as well as the ground-up construction of the adjacent Boiler House, which houses the organization’s art fabrication facilities. By preserving, restoring, and reconstructing key elements of the original power station, Powerhouse Arts maintains the site’s industrial character while deepening its connection to the surrounding urban context.
